It's good to see that the above arguments have been dropped and it has been settled in an adult-like manner. It's good to know that we can all get along. Most the time. ;D

OK to put this thread back to it's original use. I do have an idea. What if we made a Super Trivia Question? I could research something that wouldn't be common knowledge every month and the first person to post on it with a correct answer would get say 50 points added to their score on bnet. Just a thought; what do you guys think?

Well depending on the question the problem i see is that people could, as everyone always accuses others of, just google it!

But that's why I get a question then try to find them on google. If I can't find the answer very easily or even at all then I will use it. But that's also the point. These will be very hard questions that not everyone or even anyone should know. You may have to research it. But if we do do it, I will make the question as difficult as possible.

Seems like a good idea to me... I guess the person who asks the question is screwed cause he can't answer! lol

It wouldn't bother me because I'm hardly in the running for the high-point recognition. I think of one for next month and I'll pm it to you chalupa to see if you like it.

IF we do go through with this question thing, I've thought about it a bit, and a few technical questions will have to be looked at before it's started. Such as, will it be the first person to post it on the website and then it's done? Or should the person who does it, in this case Jonathon, be whispered the answer by whoever gets it, and if by a certain time whoever has gotten it, then they all get the points. As well if it's just a race to see who can get it first, a good time to start the question would have to be figured out, because everyone's on different time zones and free at different times.. so that might have to be looked into.

Navy is so right about the time zone issue and also are you refering to giving 50 postings credit as the prize? I think that's a bit steep. Right now our channel stays consistently active with no prizes received so perhaps we could post their name monthly like my name was for the September channel win in addition to say, 10 posting credits. One thing for sure, I implicitly trust jono in this regard. It's a fine idea and with your 'superior' iq, you will no doubt find a suitable time frame. Just remember to tell this little aussie the time - you know what I mean.

Well since I don't know of anybody who's on in Europe I think that like 4 pm Pacific Time would be good, 'cause it's 7 hours after Sydney and three hours before Eastern Time. That'd be 9 am Sydney (i think), 4 pm Pacific, 5 pm Mountain, 6 pm Central, and 7 pm Eastern. If I left anyone out or I'm wrong about the time conversion for Sydney let me know. I was also wondering what you guys thought about the day I would post it. Should we do it the first of the month, or the first weekend, or the end of the month, or what? I just wanted to get everyone's input. And trash, you may be right, 50 points is kinda steep so I say more like 20-30 because it's enough to put you in the lead if you're just barely in 2nd place and not too many that it puts you out of reach for someone in second. But Chalupa is the man upstairs in this matter, so, I leave all the fine desisions up to him.

Just in your wording Trash I wonder if you understood what Jonathon was suggesting as a prize? Trash said in the message "50 postings credit as the prize" are you thinking that he meant 50 postings on this website? Well Jonathon was talking about giving 50 points for trivia.. Either way if i understood you rightly or not, 50 points for trivia doesn't seem too high, as the good players here seem to be able to get 50 in the time period of an hour.
I was mostly just trying to clarify that it was points for the triviagame, I don't have strong feelings, at all, on how many points it should be, just that 50 isn't so unreasonable.

I considered what you said Navy and wholeheartedly agree that 50 points is more than reasonable and possibly meagre given that I scored 65 points within two hours the other day without much effort, just a relaxed session.
Here's hoping that some of our other players who aren't high scorers win this segment. Also, I hope that the winner of this competition is recognised separately from the optrivia channel winner.
Regardless of how it all irons out, this is a great idea and I'm really looking forward to this added dimension. Thanks again Jonathon!

Well, the question "What's the world's largest island?" has changed it's answer...from Australia to Greenland. I recommend either putting it back to Australia or just getting rid of the question, as trashbag suggests(She was humiliated by it earlier, you can read about it in the magic moments section ;D).

I think that all questions that have Barbara Streisand as an answer should have their answers changed. In the movie Meet the Fockers, you will see her name listed as Barbra Streisand.
Just a thought.
