Yeah, I think I changed it to 50 posts. That seems like enough to become a full member to me Chalupa

Heheh well for starters, thanks, but I'll let it be known that it wasn't my intention to get that far out in front lol. I just thought that certain members such as, well myself, Jonathon Kiler, rabid_gecko, lostpeon, and of course trashbag too lol, and maybe a couple of others i've missed, should have some sort of title different from the general title of new member. So again thanks, good job, and remember guys this isn't a race, lol, quality over quantity. Don't go the way i went, i mean i can't even remember most of the 502 messages i've posted:)

Well this is a topic that as a lot of people already know, really, really annoys me. That is the fact that the triviahost plays aaaalot of questions on music. I duno the reason, possibly we don't have enough questions, or maybe for whatever reasons the music questions dominate!!!! They come up very very often, I'd almost say that for long periods of time, they can come up as frequently as 1 in 5!!!! True i have selfish reasons for being annoyed at this, such as I have no desire to memorize the music ones, but their just such a huge percentage of the questions. When a music one comes up, everyone just starts guessing bands, if you don't believe me, i welcome you to look on the files and look for a music question when there's like 8 people in the channel.
I know that not everyone will agree with this, since they make killings off the music ones, but well let's hear what people have to say, and let's hear some arguments in support of all the music ones if that's how you feel.

I wouldn't mind getting rid of the music questions, or at least updating them, or something. Sure, I get points off of them, but they do get quite repetitive, and somewhat annoying. Maybe you can cut down the number of music questions on the bot, Chalupa... LostPeon

The reason that the music questions come up alot is because the music question file is HUGE. When I put the music ones in, I only put in about 1/3 because there were so many, but there are like 20 questions per artist, so the same artists come up alot. Someone added more music files, but they were one question per artist so they don't come up as often. I wish the bot would not repeat so often but it just picks a question at Random at this time. If enough people want, then I will remove them.

Yea I'm in the the idea of cutting down on the music. I don't think you should remove all the questions, just perhaps half lol. There certainly is alot, and I hardly ever know the answer, because all the music is before my time, so I guess. . .alot.

Yep, I agree. The music questions are out of date. It'd be great if one of us, (clears throught once then twice), were to make some ones of newer and modern bands. I would but I really don't have than may CDs to refer to. (mostly 'cause I burned them from my friends.) Did anyone hear that? I thought someone said something?

TO you LOSTPEON. I've just tried to look for something you said, i checked the suggestions, and help sections, but i can't find it! Well anyways you, I believe it was you maybe not, said that it would be best if people didn't swear so much in the channel, so good job with that. However, i'm gonna take it another step further, and as of now it only affects you: let's keep the user Id pictures a little more "fun" lol i'm sure you can find something else to represent you (put her on your desktop). I was happy to see chalupa changed early on.
Much appreciated Lostpeon, and anyone else who was planning on going that way.
But this was just aside, the issue is "too many music questions"

Since you asked so nicely... And yes, I wish people would watch their language a little more in the channel... but it's a public place, what are you gonna do?

I agree with gecko that there are probably too many music questions and like Jonathon said, that the ones that we have are largely outdated. However, I have noticed some newer questions on music notation and think that was a move in the right direction.
Admittedly, music is not my forte, but I think that the inclusion of a music category is important for those people who (unlike myself) would otherwise be bored with mainly geography, history and cultural questions. We need to be aware of who our audience is when choosing what material to include, and seeing how young our members are, more modern but well known bands would be a bonus to maintain interest.
By the way, I enjoy the riddles and word connections, as they actually get me thinking. Thanks for those.

To LostPeon I do agree somewhat with the less swearing part, but, seeing as to the fact that I am probably the one who swears the most, that kinda makes me a hypocrite. But nevertheless, I try to keep it to appropriate propotions but sometimes I must because they are part of my vocabulary. Some people say that if you must use swear words that means that you have a limited vocabulary, but I see it the other way around. If you don't swear that's fine but you are leaving those words out of your speech. Well that's just my two cents.

Just made that up on the spot Jon? Or did ya take that from somewhere? Well in either case, you might want to check out a book called "To inherit the wind," its based on a true story from the 1920s. One of the characters is a lawyer named Darrow, I believe, well he also invented monopoly. So what reminds me of you is that in the book, that's more or less the explanation he uses for that very thing. Something like "there's not enough good words in the english language, so I have to use swear words to add to it." (interesting huH?) Lol and in the 20s you had to explain yourself even more than now.
Just an interesting aside, I'm still totally against swear words.
