Yea I had found that comment quite ironic.
I don't think killing Saddam will actually solve anything and could potentially make things worse. He will be a martyr to all Sunni fighters in Iraq. But it's going to happen regardless of what we think.
But it's stupid to say that executing him is for human rights.
That's like having an orgy to promote abstinence.

You sure about that time? I was watching the news at 7:05 (PST) 10:05 (EST) and they said "His death is imminent" then made the announcement at 7:10 (PST) 10:10 (EST). The feed was supposedly live.

to be honest...even tho he did so many bad things...i somewhat didn't want him to die...he just seemed so, oh idk..kinda had a puppy face look about him.....would it not have been ok just to sentence him for life?

I dunno, it would have been more expensive, and what are we gonna do? Put him in jail in Iraq, where he no doubt has plenty of followers still who would break him out?
Or would we put him in an American prison, where he would most likely STILL be treated better than most people in his country?
I personally think death by hanging was a good choice. It costed what, 10 bucks for the rope?

I'm inclined to believe that he is dead, but somethings a little fishy here. He used to be in control of iraq, and we received word through al-jazeera that he died. I'm more inclined to think it was an ossama bin laden scenario where he was still alive. I don't know.

Actually we had American reporters there too, but I agree - Saddam had so many doubles that it may not have been him they hung. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. One thing is certain though: Someone got hung (hanged)

A lot of videos I have seen or heard about lead me to believe that Iraq, or al-qaeda has poorly designed cameras, as all their videos show the quality as being grainy, and not very good quality. If that is the case, it allows them to better "hide" an imposter from being identified.
