Got your attention? Good, because Im probably going to disappoint you with the misleading thread subject.
Its been a decent while since we have members tell us how they make a living. (And no, mooching loan money does not count...well, maybe). So this is just telling us where you work.
Starting off, I work at Goodwill, which is possibly the greatest college job ever in my opinion besides getting payed to streak across campus. Make $7 an hour, and the "benefits" are quite nice. And it gets the bills payed for the time being.

I quit my job at the bowling alley and I started tutoring for Statistics (15 bucks an hour, but few hours) and giving bowling lessons (30 bucks a lesson, on average 5 lessons per kid). I make a decent living.
I live in a rich neighborhood, so I can also get 50 to 100 dollars for mowing lawns in the summer.
Right now I've got about $15,000 of my own hard earned money saved for use in College for emergencies (and I'll add to it for law school).

You're a tricky one Comp. Luring me in with your false pretenses...
Anyway, as some people in the channel know, I work in a Borders bookstore. My official title is "Inventory process team" which is a fancy way of saying that I stick books where they go (sometimes) on shelves that usually contain more books on that subject (again, if I'm in the mood).
You'd be amazed just how many people, in a given day, aren't familiar with relatively common books. For example...I've actually had people ask me for books by, "that there Shakespeare fella" (not joking...that's exactly how it was phrased, in all seriousness). Fills me with confidence about our educational system!
The pay is terrible, and some customers can be real tools, but having bosses who are as surly as I am can occasionally make up for it. You should apply now...we're hiring!

I quit my job selling shoes. To sum it up, I hate stupid people. I hate working for stupid people, as well.
Jobs are overrated.

a easy yet surprising shitty job in the deli at the local iga (grocery store for those of you down south)
pay isnt that great, but it'll get me what i need by when i need it
hmm i have my fair share of stupid people. people who ask me to cut their meat extra extra thin, paper thin they say, well i say ok if you want a heap of shredded processed chicken "meat" then fine, otherwise let me do my job without telling me im not cutting it thin enough
or the security guards who decide not to do their job and let a bum in the store who has a bloody bag full of used syringes and proceeds to the deli counter and throws it in my face.
however working beside the bakery and getting free cookies and pastries and stuff does have its good side on certain days
not fun
