Well, there's been a lot of talk recently about Apple's new mp3 player/phone that they've been developing and recently announced. It's supposed to come in 4 GB and 8 GB varieties, minimum 5 hour battery life (16 for just music playback), 2.0 megapixel camera, Apple's OS X operating system, and all in 4.5 x 2.4 x .46 inches. Any thoughts on it? Would you buy one? www.apple.com/iphone/

I have an iPod Nano, but its since been dead for a number of months now, and it had 1GB. Um, I would probably get one of those, if I had the money. Sounds really cool though.
You said apple OS X? As in, will the firmware be running it, or will it be a fully-featured mini-version of Apple OS X?

The price is reportedly to be USD $499 and $599, respectively for the two models.
Also, yes, it will run OS X, albeit a pared down version of it.
One final note, as of now, it's only planned to be sold on Cingular's network, with no published plans for other mobile carriers.

by the looks of it, it's massive and the design is very basic so no i wouldn't buy it when there's plenty of good mobiles out there....if they enhance their image then maybe i would consider but hey, that's just me..i like looks over features...to have both would be the best

It's by no means massive. And I don't understand what you mean by the design being basic.
It's plenty small based on current cell phone and mp3 player sizes, and the fact that it will have both in one makes it twice as sweet.
Also, what do you mean by "if they enhance their image?"
I know there's already other designs from other companies and Apple isn't the first to propose this kind of thing, but you've got to admit that Apple's interface and overall usage is simple and easy to use, on the whole. Otherwise, they wouldn't be the prominent player they are in the mp3 player market.
