A general response to PTC Prone.

I had posted in PTC's "My forum!" thread earlier tonight and was going to post in the creation vs evolution thread but figured it would be off topic.

So instead I have created this thread to be the general thread to respond to all of PTC's posts that are mostly off topic for the other threads.

This should limit the mod's desire to lock threads that are actual discussions but have strayed off topic.

This post is solely based on PTC and his past actions as well as my own past actions.

It is not intended to be a Bash PTC thread either.

It is merely a response to questions he has posed or accusations or general anger that he has posted as of late.

Techno, don't take whatever i say to you personally. I don't hate you on a personal level. Your posts can get cumbersome.

I've rarely thought of myself as all knowing. There were probably times in my younger days(can't believe I just said that, I'm only 26) when I was totally arrogant and thought I knew everything.

Those days are gone for the most part(don't know if any of us can completely get rid of our own self-righteousness).

For the time being I am quite aware that some of my opinions could be completely wrong and sometime down the road my opinions will change if an intelligent argument is made for the opposite opinion.

I have never taken any of your posts personally. I haven't even taken most of them seriously.

However I have a strong inclination that you have taken my posts about you quite personally.

The fact that you openly asked me to stop posting about you because it was hurting your reputation(i think you were already at -40(first time) before I even noticed your posts on the board)

That fact alone shows you were concerned about what I posted about you having some sort of negative effect on the opinion of people on these boards that will never even meet you. They won't even meet me for that matter.

So I actually took my first break from picking on you and I don't know, it probably lasted two weeks or so.

Then I believe in the animations thread you posted something along the lines of an "I'm better than the rest of you" post. So I decided to respond.

When I decided to start it up again I limited myself to just post when you(PTC) did something silly or outright stupid. And while the "attacks" were more at your actions than at you, I can see how you would associate yourself with your actions and take it personally.

Of course, only posting when you did something dumb seemed to make me post something every day.

So then my humanity came up again and I decided to make a poll on whether I should bug you more, less or not at all.

I expected that most people would ask me to tone it down and that's what the pole showed. So for the second time I took a bug PTC break.

Then, on the chat box I believe, you started it up again I forget exactly how(and yes as most arguments go the fighting can go on so long that no one remembers how it started). So the fighting words were said and It came back to the same old feud.

And that brings us to the present. Specifically tonight when I think you reached your breaking point.

So I shall respond to these things now.

1) The shut the hell up remark.

Well, since you are the one who keeps on posting uniformed or downright stupid things I would have to say that you should seriously considering taking your own advice.

2) The bully accusation.

I do not consider myself a bully. But my own opinion is likely to be biased, so, as always, let's go to the facts instead of opinions.

If you did something dumb, I called you on it.
If you demonstrated ignorance on a topic, you got schooled.
If you accused me or others of being inferior to you, you were corrected with severe prejudice.

Now this next point will most likely personally hurt you. And believe it or not I am actually conflicted about posting it even though I view it as the truth.

My remark on your appearance was an emotional response that came out of anger.

This response would not be filled with anger, but it would still be hurtful.

So for now I won't actually say what I had wanted to say. I suggest you take this as an act of mercy/kindness/quasi-peace.

3) The post count.

How many posts you have really doesn't matter. And actually neither does your low karma level. I don't base my opinions on someone due to their karma level(positive or negative).

I base my opinion/post on A) What they say and B) The manner in which they say it.

If you say something I disagree with, but do it in a thoughtful way(ie you demonstrate you actually had a thought and not a brain fart) then I will attempt to discredit the argument but not the person.

4) Your insults

This alone is the main reason I keep drawing myself back into the scuffle. Because your actions themselves actually are immature and could be construed as mass bullying. It isn't bullying however, only because you are the weaker person.

You tell me to lay off you for a while but then you call me and everyone here a sissy. That is just asking for your ass to be handed to you.

You remind me of my tiny Shih-Tzu. She will bark at a big dog and act all fierce. But if the big dog calls her bluff and moves towards her, she runs between my legs and whimpers.

You obviously can dish out an insult(weak ones, but insults nonetheless) but cannot take any.

Therefore my advice to you is to never insult anyone(personally or in general) on this board. That will be a START towards redeeming yourself.

You could also stop posting stupid things on topics that no one cares about in your attempts to demonstrate your usefulness to the group.

And finally you could actually start fighting back with intelligent, well thought out replies that use facts as the main argument. Telling me or anyone else to shut up or go to hell really makes for a poor argument.

Now as I said I don't intend this to be a Bash PTC thread so to anyone besides Prone reading this I'd ask you to let PTC respond to this.

And even after he responds don't lower this into a thread of snide insults which I am guilty of doing on previous threads.

Ok, techno, let's stop this fight, or whatever it is right here. I sincerely apologize for all of my former posts that appeared to bash you. True, i thought of your posts as rubbish, because in a sense it seemed like you meant that I had no idea what i was posting, but i guess in a way I really don't.

My opinions, as you like, aren't really just opinions. They were learned facts from back when i was in like highschool, and further back in like elementary school, so i could say they aren't opinions in fact.

Techno, I'd like to re-establish this "friendship" that we have on the forums. That goes with you too rabid. Probably a lot of the things I'm saying to you now techno, will probably relate to rabid too, although I never picked on rabid that much.

probably one of my many mistakes, but definitely the worst. Techno, your not a bad person, and I've realized that now. It was just whenever you came back to my posts, my posts had "weak" arguments. They are not weak, although in your opinion they might be. You know, I really hate bashing people now. I'm a truly good person in life, and I never want to bash anyone. If anyone of you replies to this post as saying im an idiot in doing so, i just don't know what to say to you. It will hurt, because I'm opening up to you guys.



Let me describe to you a little something about how my life has played out:

Back in elementary school, i wasn't the most liked kid around. In fact, i wasn't really liked by a lot of my peers, which were all younger than me, well at least my 8th grade year (yes, oldest person in 8th grade year, and consequently in highschool my senior year). I wanted to make friends with them, and socialize with some of them, but they would just have none of me. I broke down a lot in that school because all i wanted was a friend. I'm starting to cry right now as i started his sentence, but it went away shortly after.

The principal was the best person there. I think he was actually more of a friend to me, than a principal. His wife was also a very loving person. I would talk to her after school also, probably because i couldn't socialize with the other kids. I didn't get into much trouble more than the other kids, but they sure liked to pick on me. Maybe it was because i looked weird to them or something. IDK. The point is, i never liked that i wasn't able to be friends with them in elementary school, but I'm pretty much friends with most of them now. It just takes time, and i used my time in a wrongful sense to make fun of you guys, instead of being such a nice poster. I'm sorry that my posts on you ever sounded that mean, and devalueing to you.

Can we get along from now on, and put peace back in the forums?

Since you opened up I shall refrain from punishing your for it.

So for now I shall take your post as an appology and will once again refrain from the personal attacks at you.

But I do not consider our interaction here to be a friendship of any sort. At the same time it's not an enemy relationship either.

Also I hope you read the entire post thouroughly as that can potentially help you repair your own damage to your reputation on the boards.

Now a short while ago I learned to stop taking things personally. That is, if someone argued against something I said or believe in I would no longer take it as a personal attack.

Even if someone directly insulted me(such as you) by calling me names I would still not take it personally. There have been exceptions when the attacks would sting but I would use those as lessons to remember to let the insults bounce off me.

I'd suggest you practice this, here on the boards and more importantly in real life.

It's really only our own thoughts that matter in the end. What anyone else says, whether they be friend or foe, doesn't matter. What matters is how we process what others have said.

As for peace on the forums. Well our group on the boards here is a diverse collection of people of varied ages and beliefs. So there is bound to be heated discussion on topics from time to time.

Most notably religious discussions. So arguements WILL happen. Just don't take attacks on your arguments personally.

As for a general peace between the two of us, a truce can be held once again for now.

And even if you do screw up again I will do my best to hold back. As I said before the best way for you to stop getting insulted by me or others is to stop trying to make yourself out to be better than us.

That's all I have to say on this topic for now.

Oh, most definitely techno. I'll take your words very seriously, and you can trust me. It would only lead to some type of quarrel later on in real life, since whatever i set as an example here, I'm most likely going to play a part of it in real life.

You seem like the kind of wise-old man on these forums, with all kinds of advice to give to people. Just so happens that triviahost has one of you guys on the forums.

Don't count on that "retort" post on the evolution vs. creation thread. I might post something to contrast what you said, and maybe try to prove you right or wrong, but i will not lead it to a bashing segment.

Yea there isn't much of a reason to forgive.
But I still do because I felt I should practice what I preach/believe.

And that is forgiveness of others.
Even if they themselves do not ask for it.

And hey, Prone might actually have learned something.

I have learned something, techno. Its not that your posts didn't mean a thing. Sometimes i just need to get pushed in the right direction. You all have your opinions about me, and they may be right, or wrong, but i won't let that get in the way of my life, because i know it won't hurt me on a personal level.
