I don't know whether I want to stick on it or not. The practices are 3-7 four days a week and I really want to focus on getting good grades throughout highschool, and football would just take so much time out of everything.
Has anyone ever had any experience playing on a team and could you tell me your experience?

Well I have the policy of listening in class and finishing the homework during the class, but your teachers might not give you the ability to do that. I personally was able to keep a 3.8 gpa while doing bowling (similar practices, 3-6:30 every day after school). I'm sure if you really try you could do both, but it depends on how much you like football.

whoa whoa ms lippy. Ur not thinking reasonably here at all. Okay.. assuming you do start to play football. This will cut your time at home all those hours eachday. When you get home you will now have to do your homework or whatever. See where this going? You will have no time for trivia which is life. Your scores will diminish by at least 50 percent. Chances to obtain any rank at all will be lost. And frankly you will lose the respect of your trivia peers.
My solution. . . Get a laptop. bring it to football because ur going to be sitting on the bench the whole time(ouch i just got you).. and play trivia.

If you happen to end up being a star player, Im sure you will get some sort of "nice" treatment, be it in the form of slightly better grades or ease that the average joe student doesn't get (By the way, dont go about telling me it doesnt happen, because it DOES.)
I dont know you're study habits that well, but would you actually spend 3-7 PM each day working solidarity on school work? And if not football, would that time be spent on something else, possibly a job, hobbies, out with friends? My suggestion is seriously weighing your options and determine what would happen in many different case scernarios.

I'd say do it.
High school is the only chance you'll probably be able to do something like this. Once you hit college and beyond, things become much more selective and harder to get into, unless you're one of those few star athletes.
I'm sure you'll be able to figure out ways to do all the things you did before and still enjoy them, even with several hours devoted to practice each day.

Yeah, you should do it. You can do homework during class if possible, or try to squeeze some in between practice and the end of school. It shouldn't be too hard to concentrate and finish it, especially if you're tired from football.
(I was on the swim team, but there were no weekend practices, and it worked out fine. I'm doing water polo now, though.. and there's morning practices.)

I say you should do it.
I didn't play sports but i was in 3 bands, and cadets which took about 25hours of my evenings and weekends per week.
Still got A's in the majority of my classes(B's in english sigh)
And I really enjoyed my bands and cadets and it probably helped my grades because it forced me to use my time preciously.
One caveat though, when I was in highschool I didn't have a computer and the internet was a "brand new" thing(grad 1997).
If you like playing football, then by all means do it.

Speak up sonny, grampa can't hear you so well. Thank goodness for that boy rbob, he types all in caps just so i can read the words without squinting.
Seriously, though, how old is everyone here? I'm guessing mostly 13-19. I'll do a poll.
Old people love doing polls.
