Hey guys: Here is an important download! This is a FREE program that let's you see every program that starts up when you boot your computer. You may be surprised to find a ton of crap (like spyware) that you don't even know about. I found one spyware program that was starting up under three different names. This program is cool in that it lists everything and allows you to disable or delete any item very easily without having to mess with your registry manually which could cause problems if you make a mistake. Here is the link: www.simplisoftware.com/Public/index.php?request=StartupManagerI disabled a ton of crap and my computer is running faster and booting faster. Chalupa

The only problem I have with programs like these is that I'm not always sure if it's safe to delete certain programs; which might turn out to be what actually makes my computer run, lol.
But I like the idea of this thread, in suggesting helpful programs, so keep them coming!

If you google the name of whatever program you're curious about, information about it will show up.

Hah ya that sounds like a game. The site i'm thinking about is not a program, but it's sort of connected with helpful sites, or in this case site. Have you guys used the "Ask a Question" function on Yahoo? True we do have the option of asking questions here, and having either Doom or Irish attempt to answer them, but I've found the Yahoo one is good for specific or localized questions. Googling is good if you know enough about what your asking to get the key words, but the "Ask" function has been pretty helpful when your question doesn't generate relevant results. Since Yahoo has such a huge variety of viewers I've found you get relevant posters. And quick responses usually too!

Yeah, I've noticed they have that, but I've never used it. I should try it out sometime.
