Well I hope I don't run into any of you Californians when i'm down there!
But if any of you guys are in the Stanford area this weekend come watch how the pros throw a frisbee, lol. I'll be gone from Thursday until Monday for an Ultimate Frisbee trip.
Sure frisbee's not the coolest sport, but look at the trips! Two weeks ago I was down to Portland Oregon, and now I get to take an 18 hour roadtrip to San Francisco.
So see yall next week (or this weekend!)

Ultimate Frisbee...now you are talking my language. But you won't find the best in Cali. Midwest is where its at!
Nonetheless, good luck and have fun.

Just because you have wide open spaces that go on forever... and then some doesn't mean we aren't as good, if not better on the West coast.
And Navy, ouch on the 18 hour ride. Well, San Fran is farther North than me, so you won't be seeing me around!

I feel the need to point out that my small, liberal arts, pot smoking hippie populated school, has a 99.99% frisbee ownership rate. If it can be done with frisbees, apparently we do it. That includes golfing, sending messages (writing on the frisbee and then throwing it at someone far away from you...some genius had to think that up), and yes, ultimate...They go all out on the team here, they actually seriously hurt themselves, though half the time it's because they play drunk. So if you wanna throw down, East side is where it's at...none of this midwest nonsense.

San Fran is boring, but that 18 hour trip sounds nice!
Enjoy Navy. Frisbee doesn't sound too exciting though unless you watch golf or something.

Whot, San Francisco is very not boring. Maybe if you've ever actually spend some time there, you'd find out it's actually a very interesting place! Lotsa stuff to do, good food, and a good city overall.

Hahha well i'm happy that you guys have heard of Ultimate Frisbee! Too many people give you blank stares when you mention that you play it (e.g. customs border guards). And yes it is a pretty good sport Whot! There can be some pretty sweet catches. For one point I had to layout and dig a hole into the ground with my shoulder, but I caught it! A lot of running though! Tires you out. So when you only have 11 guys to play like 6 games over 2 days, it gets rough; some of the teams (such as Stanford) had a mob of 30 guys, which could continually sub in. As to whether San Fran is a good or bad place, I don't really know, didn't really get to look around too much. I did get to walk along Pier 39 though, and was able to see Alcatraz! But no Golden State Bridge It did rain on Sunday and Monday, but it was pretty sweet summer weather on Saturday (lots of sun burn). We won't be seeing that type of weather up here until July. Stanford University has a pretty sweet campus, all palm tree lined boulevards and fountains. The 18 hour drive was tiring, especially for me since I have such long legs, but roadtrips are fun. We had a pretty sweet setup: we had a laptop set up between the front seats, plugged the speakers into the car speakers for surround sound and then watched the extended version of the Lord of the Rings trilogy (not my choice, but I was vetoed, too many of the girls were so into that series). Go frisbee! NavY_Ceals
