That's right, you heard it! Baseball's back (or almost back if you're talking about the majors).
The college season is well underway and ready for the tough season that's ahead.
My home team, Cal Poly, is off to a great start. 5-1 with a home opening weekend sweep of No. 21 Fresno St. and coming fresh off two straight wins against San Jose St., we're now ranked as high as #25 in the nation! On a side note, the CSU system has recently voted to end the sale of alcoholoic beverages at all sporting events as of 2007. They just like sucking the fun out of everything.
However, my other team, Florida, is also ranked. #1 in one poll and #2 in two others.
Sorry, comp, Iowa must not have much of a baseball team...

Well this is not in regards to college baseball, in fact i'm not even sure of the league, I think it's some sort of international tournament. But just because Americans are so into baseball, and because Canada is seen as this backwater hockey loving country (not so untrue) it's pretty sweet that Canada just beat the USA in baseball! I'm sure it won't last long and we'll soon be put in our place, but screw that, we're 2-0 and one of those teams was the juggernaut Americans!

Iowa State doesnt have a baseball team because of that bastardly Title IX bit. So many Cyclone baseball hopefuls came here mainly for that and they stripped it away from them. I dont even think the Hawkeyes or the Panthers (UNI) have one either. We're pretty much nothing in the way of DI baseball. But, like last year, theres great hope for other Big 12 teams to thrive and make it to Omaha (which is about the only reason I could be proud to have my hometown be within a 50 mile radius of that place)
And yea, Navy, congrats on beating on us. As though as we were one of the favorites, I wouldnt say, like most analysts, that we were THE favorite. The Dominican Republic looks pretty damned good from my standpoint. I'd say we were in the top 2-3 for sure though.

Let's go Red Sox. I am so excited for baseball to be back. I'm not really interested in college baseball, but I will be once I decide on what college to go to.(Probably Texas or Maryland)
