I still do about several games. I still grit my teeth about several instances when it seems the game was decided who should win before hand.. Recall... calls you've seen that were so bad that you thought the fix was in... I have 3 easily in mind: The most blatant was the superbowl with the seahawks and steelers, but the most offensive to me, will be posted soon. Grrr still mad about all of them hehe.

No, consistently through the game there were many judgement calls that had no business being involved in a championship game. The least penalized team in the league doesn't go from 1-2 penalties a game to 12 out of the blue. They had 2 touchdowns called back, and several penalties to keep pittsburgh drives alive. Hassleback was called for an illegal block while making a tackle on a ball carrier for fugzakes. How is a team supposed to keep fighting when they feel like the game is rigged. They woulda dominated that game if it wasn't for the zebras.

I still cant think of any except for the stupid ref that ref's my games. He calls penalties that aren't even close just so that he can be the center of attention and everyone can look at him. And he never has the time right. Everytime you ask for the time, how can it be exactly 45 seconds left or 5 seconds left?
Well yesterday we played in Aloha Stadium and he got to use the microphone thing and almost every play he called a penalty just to hear his voice on the microphone.

That would suck, is there no accountability set up for him? Seems like the parents would run him out of dodge. That'd make a game almost unwatchable let alone unbearable to play.

Hhehe, yea that was pretty funny, but not exactly the refs' fault. Ravens own coach's fault on that second chance fourth down one.

it was an assistant coach, who can't technically call timeouts.

Kinda Off topic but I think they shoulda make a new rule that if its in overtime and a team goes up by less than 7 points, than the other team has one more try to score.
Edit: in football
Edit: NFL

Yea, somewhat a strange rule about the timeouts they will address for next year. Even so, nothing could have been done about it after the wistle blows. Even an inadvertant wistle would blow the play dead.
No more sudden death overtime? I don't think they would go for it, pads stats too much to have matching overtime rules. Gotta have somewhat valid records, unlike baseball.

As far as the worst calls of all time, I immediately think of two college games... because those upset me so much more. When the fix is obviously in during a professional game it seems so much less surprising and offensive. When you see these college kids playing their hearts out, and living their dreams in big games; to see it hijacked by referees just steams me to the core. Washington State vs. Michigan. 1998 rose bowl and possible national title contention for both teams. Leaf is moving the cougars with ease down the field(with seconds left) after an improbable flag spurned Michigan touchdown drive. Ryan leaf throws a 30-some yard pass to get to the wolverine 26 yard line, with several seconds left... college rules says the clock stops for the first down markers. They get up and spike the ball with clearly 3 seconds left on the clock. Cougars stand around expecting to get one more exciting play, while michigan hurredly runs on to the field towards the locker-room after the 3 seconds inexplicably tick off. -so blatant, so wrong to do that to college kids.

The other? UConn Huskies vs. Washington Huskies 2006 in the round of the sweet 16 NCAA tournament. A game the UW huskies lead almost entirely: miraculously cause the refs were so one sided. Letting one team get clobbered while on the other end phantom calls were made. The network stopped showing replays of the fouls because it was so obvious. The announcers were in complete shock and a loss for words at some of the calls. The last replay they actually showed, Brockman got called for a fowl to give them a 3-point play. He didn't even have his hands up.. the dude went right by him untouched for a layin.
No more details of goaltending or anything else; the box score says enough. 23 free throws to 47. Brandon Roy and 4 out of 5 of the UW starters fouled out along along with one more from the bench. The other starter and one bench guy had 4 fouls. If either of them got one more foul, they wouldn't have been able to put a full team on the floor. I don't know how there wasn't more uproar and an investigation, into either of those games. It's like NW sports teams know they are relegated to accepting corrupt refereeing. Speaking for most sports fans around here, the enthusiasm is waning with bullsh't like that going on.

Yeah but College Overtime is much more fun than in the pros where all they do is kick a field goal.
