Well since no one has brought it up I decided I might as well talk about the whole Michael Vick Situation.. Unless you live in a hole with no contact to the outside world or are not familiar with sports there have been some allegations against Michael Vick, (Star QB for Atlanta Falcons). They're about him being involved in some dog fighting ring.
But my point is that many people say that if Michael Vick is allowed to play this year that they will not watch any Football. I wanted to talk about this because personally I think that this is a melodramatic situation because there have been other NFL players that have comitted crimes such as Jamal Lewis or Pacman Jones. And If you so choose to belive he did it (Which most people do) O.J. Simpson. So why are people focusing in on Him?

All I can say is that this trouble stuff seems to run in the Vick family. I think they should maybe suspend him for a season or a couple of games and then just let Atlanta deal with how they want to. But if I was the Falcon's GM or w/e, I would keep him because they have who as their Backup? Joey Harrington. Not that there's anything wrong with that but he just isn't good enough. Anyways, if they keep him, it'll be just like with Bonds. Like him or hate him... He's still there.
But really, I just don't think it matters cause the Falcon's will still be bad.

But they almost made it to the play-offs last year (Or Did, Never paid much attention to East Coast Teams) So saying they still suck would be wrong. However, yes you have a valid point as to why not keep him. Unless they can score a decent QB. But due to all the work they've been through to get him and to build an Offense around him I doubt they wanna lose him...

Hey, and those Mike Vick shoes the one from Nike are super cheap now. lol Ummmm an 7-9 isn't almost making it lol. But Vick did have a pretty good season in the beginning.

7-9 is too almost making it when more then half the teams are .500 or less and the one's who are 8-8 can make the wildcard. But the whole point is whether or not people should watch football if He is allowed to play. Which I think is a pretty asinine question considering that there are hundreds of other players to focus on.

Are you talking about any football game on TV or just watching Michael Vick play. Either way, I still would.
Just like Bonds, I still watch him struggle to hit 2 more homeruns.

I guess I'm one of those ones who are out of the loop--I mean I heard of the dog fighting thing(which I think is awful) but I didnt hear on the follow up to it.
It is against the law, right? Is he charged? Did they convict him? Can the team legally punish him if he isn't charged/convicted?
Would I still watch him when he plays--probably. Just like we watch the actors/actresses/other sports stars/politicians that break the law or do really awful things.

It's still in court I believe, but whichever way the outcome goes, one bad apple doesn't ruin the tree for me. With other sports it might be different. The Barry Bonds issue is entirely different. That was a league wide scandal. Steroids wasn't even banned or tested for in MLB untill after 2000 sometime, which is an idiotic stance for a professional sport who would hope to attest to revere any hallowed records. Of which baseball seems to clings to the most. I don't blame Barry Bonds or Mark McGuire(etc.) as much as those in charge. It's too bad about Vick, he was fun to watch. If he's convicted I would wager he will have a hard time finding an employer in the NFL.

Well actually yes, there is a big difference between Bonds and Vick.
Bonds cheated to become homerun "king". Vick just did something against the law by having dogs getting killed. Besides, Vick isn't going for any big record anyways.

Yeah what a loser. He told everyone that he wasn't involved. It kinda sucks though we'll never see him in the NFL again.
