I have a story that I would like to recommend to you all except for Navy, as it has some adult themes.
Seriously, the books are by George R.R. Martin and the series is called: A Song of Fire and Ice. The first book is called, A Game of Thrones and if your concerned about intimate scenes, then the Daenerys chapters are not for you. However, I highly recommend this series which also includes, A Clash of Kings and A Storm of Swords.

Are they romantic novels or fantasy or other?

Its classed as fantasy literature but this series has it all! It even has some sexually provacative chapters called Daenerys. The author entitles his chapters by characters. So, you have character chapters like Jon, Sansa and my favorite, Tyrion.
One of the many special things I enjoy about this author's work is that no character is definely good or bad. He writes in a shade of grey, so to speak. Initially, I may interpret a character as basically being good and admirable, then later, I find him or her dispicable, and so on it goes. So, he develops very 'human' characters like you would encounter in real life but existing only in this fantastical fictional writing and in our own imaginings.

I would also recommend Harry Potter for the kiddies I find that as a very degrading comment to the Harry Potter series! Those books are freaking amazing, and JK Rowling cannot disappoint people with the next 2 books that are coming out. I have friends of all ages who love those books. My friend's little siblings and parents like it. I actually heard about them from my best friend's dad in 5th grade.

Well, I used to like the Harry Potter books. That is until the last one came out.
Not that I don't like it, but, to tell the truth, I haven't even finished it and I got it probably a month or two after it came out. It's just not interesting. I tried to read it when I first got it, but I lost interest quickly.
Maybe I'll finish it before the next one comes out and see how that one compares. Who knows...

I was refering to the fifth one. Now, the sixth one is out, but I still haven't finished, or touched, for that matter, the fifth.

I feel the same way Peon does on this. I got the fifth one when it came out and read it, but it wasn't really that interesting and I didn't really care for it. In fact, I can't really remember much of it at all.

Haha... there aren't really any developments in the fifth anyway. You aren't missing much. Harry just screws things up with that lady... Cho Chang. Oh... and there's a showdown in the ministry. But the sixth one doesn't have anything either. All that is worth reading is his meetings with Dumbledore, and the last hundred pages.

I'm hearing that Harry and his friends get drunk or somehow otherwise wasted in the sixth book. That true?
