I have seen that chalupa has put the OnlineGaming bot is charge of asking the questions and wow, the speed is incredible and demanding as well. I was wondering, however, is this the surprise you were saving for april, or just a temporary replacement for the real thing?

I'm just testing things out right now, but this is part of the surprise. I can program this bot to do anything...(Well just about...some things are hard). So far, I can tell you this:
1. The bot will go through all 25,000 questions without ever repeating a question. (Only problem is that it's possible some of the same questions made it in more than once....so you might think it's a repeat) but the bot will never repeat. 2. I improved the amount of hints on longer answers. Still need to make some modifications though. 3. Now, rank works by rank # instead of name. People always wanted to know who was ranked 2 or 3..... 4. If you break someones streak of 5 or more...the bot will announce it. 5. I still made answers with three letters or less not give any hints...although this is a very simple change if you guys think it should still give hints.
I found there are a couple of bugs, like the bot crashes if you type !rank without a number after it...I already found the fix though. Also, there are some problems with the rankings in the bot profile. Rankings are very complicated to write.
I plan to add some of the following features:
1. Bonus Points for some questions. 2. Maybe awards for points like the old bot? 3. Awards for long streaks? 4. Back up bots will take over and play the same exact trivia game, using the same points database. Basically, I can put several bots to take over when one dies, but the only difference you guys see is the name of the bot calling out questions! Should reduce down time. Plus, this bot is much more stable (but sometimes my DSL has been dropping for a couple seconds so all the bots die, and that sucks). I would like ideas from you guys. Almost anything is possible so give your ideas, and then I want to hear from everyone else if they want it put in or not. Ultimately, I will go with whatever the majority wants....so Let's here so creative idea's to make this bot more fun!

First of all...that sounds sweet!!
Secondly...Im sure that everyone who plays trivia acknowledges all the time and effort that you must put into programming those bots
its cool how the ranking works by number now instead of name... that will be cool. also its obviously great that the channel will be up more with the same questions and rankings instead of having backup trivia. that is gonna be a major help.
the only idea that I have right now is with the ranking. is it possible to do both !rank # and !rank 'username' because that would better instead of just #, because if you're looking for a specific user then # wouldnt really help would it? please correct me if im wrong
anyway, sounds awesome and thanks for the effort

I think that's a great idea Geck and i'm going to try and do that. Ranking is proving to be a very difficult programming task so i'm not sure how it's going to work out. Figuring ranks isn't all that hard, but I always seem to struggle with making adjustments to the rankings after each question is answered. It's alot harder than you guys would think. I'm also running into problems with the bot "flooding" and being kicked off by bnet. I need to find a way for it to avoid talking too fast. For example:
It gives a Hint, and immediately someone gets the correct answer, so it responds to the correct answer, right after the hint, and then ask's the next question too fast. I may have to delay the next question.
