There was a big controversy which recently subsided about whether Michigan should re-run its primary so as to be "fair" to Barack Obama. Obama's campaign originally suggested simply splitting the delegates evenly, where Clinton's campaign proposed a mail-in primary. There was a big push to simply re-run a formal primary on June 3rd, which has recently been abandoned. It looks like Hillary will be keeping her delegates as is from Michigan.
The arguments for it are mainly the fairness of it; Hillary obtained quite a few delegates, but that was simply because Barack was not on the ticket (due to Michigan running its primary before New Hampshire, Barack refused to put his name in for respect for tradition). Also (and this will help some of you pro people), the only two counties in michigan (Washtenaw and Wayne) which advertised the ability to vote "uncommitted" ended up with the majority winning that way, suggesting that Hillary only won because people didn't think there was any other alternative.
The argument against the re-run primary are many. Firstly, unless the two candidates raised enough donations to pay for the multi-million dollar operation, it would turn out to be yet another problematic expense for Michigan's crumbling economy. Other critics claim that Obama didn't care about Michigan in the first place, and shouldn't be accommodated simply because it looks as though Michigan is going to be a critical state in the democratic race.
Should Michigan have decided to re-run the Democratic Primary?

Yupper- Yea, sure ya betcha. What a cluster*%#@. One of the most populous central states, shouldn't be just excused from counting. Perhaps they could have drawn straws with certain delegate ammounts. It would have about the same validity. Who screwed this up anyway? A voting day actually got cancelled, they moved the date up and no one was even prepared? I guess I don't fully understand. Uff dah!
