I bet most people just pick who they WANT to win, but I thought it would be interesting to see if people can be honest. For example, I am a niner fan, but can be honest if I think they will probably lose an upcoming game. I personally think Bush will win based on the polls and understanding the Electoral system. If you just vote along party lines, then you may be eating crow in 11 days!

Being realistic, I do think that Bush will win, but I am not admitting defeat. I still voted for Kerry in the early election. ;D

I too think that Bush will win, too many Americans are opposed to change and they seem to stick with something worse than change it out. Bush may not the be worst thing ever, but he is bad enough.

There's no way Bush is going to win, in my humble opinion. I just think too many people are fed up with Bush and his antics and everything else. I think it will be close, but Kerry is going to pull it out in the end. I am voting for Kerry, by the way.

By the way... if you would like to know where you are on the political spectrum, liberal, conservative, authoritarian, libertarian, go to www.politicalcompass.org. I'ts a short quiz that will help you understand where you lie on issues and possibly help determine who to vote for(if you haven't already) in the upcoming US election.

Looking at the analysis afterwards, I found I was rather close to both Gandhi and Nelson Mandela...(fairly liberal and towards the libertarian end just slightly). It's interesting to see who you line up with and how your views coincide with world leaders.

You seem to have a monopoly on this board now lost lol. I find it funny that you think it'll be a close vote, but... there's no chance for Bush . I might check out that website sometime, but right now have i to cram for a psychology test tomorrow. NavY_Ceals

I took the quiz and it placed me almost smack in the middle. Right in between authoritarian and libertarian and just slightly on the liberal side. But I am almost right in the middle of the graph it put's me at -1.25 and -.15. Almost in the middle. Maybe that's why I get along with people so well politically? I'm in between all sides.

Yea, I took the test too.
I found out that if I were a politician, I'd be hangin with Ghandi and Nelson Mandela. I was placed at -5.75 on the Economic Left/Right and -2.92 on the Social Libertarian/Authoritarian left-right. So I'm almost exactly where Ghandi stood and close too Mandela.
Lol, I found it funny that a large number of Prime Ministers and Presidents who are or were in office in this generation or century are all so close together. Perhaps this is the base that society wants? They all seem to believe in the same concepts, perhaps that is why they were all prominent political figures.
But that was a cool thing.

I am currently watching the US election results on the tv here in Sydney. Looks real close and not in favor of Kerry really. But, it is an exciting election either way.

I'm wathing too, and it looks like Bush will take Florida, and Ohio is looking favorable for Bush. I think it's still a little too close to call at this point.

Yeah, it looks like Bush has it in the bag. But it's not for certain yet. He has 269 or his 270 needed and he's winning in Nevada by 5,000 votes and Nevada is 5, so that would put him at 274. Whatever, it puts Kerry in a great postion to win in 2008 if he decides to run then if he loses this election.

Well, unfortunately, it looks like four more years of Bush. Oh well... As to 2008, I don't believe Kerry will be running then, so we will have to find a new candidate to run for president then. Maybe someone who will actually do good for the US... haha. Well, there's always next time...

Well, LostPeon, you have to eat crow! haha (No way Bush can win).
I highly doubt anyone is stupid enough to put Kerry back on in 4 years since if he could not win know, he will never win.
Well, just for the record, Jonathon, Navy_Ceals, Rabid Gecko, and myself called this thing right. And although wrong, at least LostPeon was willing to vote (yeah, some of you were afraid to make the prediction).
I personally think it was fairly obvious just looking at all the data, but sometimes people are skewed by emotions. That's why I thought this thread would be interesting. Actually, I expected more people to claim Kerry as the winner, but there is something about knowing you will be proven right or wrong that makes people become objectionable.

Well once again, good to have you back for another 4 Bush! In regards to your comments Chalupa about it being pretty predictable from the data, in general i'm not sure about that. As I've wrote in another thread, it did seem predictable that Ohio would go Bush as what the 2 stand for seem to mirror each other, but in the overall picture I think that it favored Kerry. Most of the commentaries i've heard on it all said that they were shocked that Kerry didn't get more votes and that it basically all came down to people wanting a strong president on terrorism. As well most polls I've seen pretty much put Bush and Kerry within 2 percent of each other. But thankfully preliminary polls are irrelevant and the final ones put Bush back on top.
