how about, instead of showing how many times a certain thread has been viewed, you instead show how many users have viewed the thread. That way, you know how many different people have viewed it. You could also have total views.

I'm not sure we have the option to change that. It might be hardwired into the forum by the forum provider. But, only Chalupa would know for sure, I suppose.
