So today I took a music theory exam to get into a college. There was a section of questions asking you to identify famous jazz musicians and what instrument they played. I scanned through the list and was delighted to see the name Elvin Jones, a famous jazz drummer whose name had appeared in a triviahost question earlier in the week. I nearly exclaimed "Sweet! Bonus points!" but refrained myself as I quite wanted to get into the school. As it stands, I might get in, but I certainly don't think my status hinges on whether I answered the late Mr. Jones' question correctly or not.

My team won our trivia contest at the local bar this week in part because the question of "Where is the Organization for Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) headquartered?" My gut said Switzerland, because everything is headquartered there, but then a little voice said "Go with Austria." So I did, despite my teammates' misgivings. It's a triviahost question, which is why I thought of it, and it is indeed Austria. I don't think we won by one point only, but if it had come down to that, it was worth a $50 tab at the bar.
Long story short, free beer-soaked hot dogs, french fries, and onion rings for me because I got that right!

I actually found an answer on my SAT because of the Triviahost. I felt so good about finding that answer so quickly that the rest of the test seemed really easy.
