oh, right.. sorry about that. Don't lie. You're not sorry at all! No he's probably not. Should he really be sorry? What did you say just yesterday Dx? Prone, if I could shank you over the internet, I would. You are what many would call a "tool". You bend in to what society says you should think. As your definition is most likely your description of yourself, I take pleasure in saying you will never be cool. Dx, are you sorry for that remark? You threatened physical violence against someone. You're lucky you didn't get warned. I damn near got warned/banned just for saying Prone would regret posting his real name to a board filled with people that hate him. I highly doubt any of us are sorry for every remark that we make on this board.

I'm sorry for most remarks that get taken offensively (if I have posted any). Maybe not those about rbob. But it's all a joke anyways so really I'm just offending rbob the character and not the actual person.

[/sarcasm] Besides, I doubt prone knew what "shanking" was at the time of the post, so he would have little right to get offended because of it.

That's Lost and Chal's duty. And they are intelligent enough to know what those words mean. But back to the actual topic at hand. Being cool. You do need friends to be "cool" in any schoolyard sense of the word. A person with no friends who thinks they are cool are not in fact cool, they are pathetic. But you can't have an overinflated ego either. A modest ego is good, but thinking you are a god or something will not make you cool. I guess the best word to use would be charisma. If you have that, you will be considered cool by most people.

aren't charisma and being "cool" pretty much the same thing?

I don't think it's so much having "friends" as it is being admired. Dwight Eisenhower was cool, but he didn't have a whole lot of close friends. He's cool because of the things he did, and how great they were. I think it's more about how strangers think of you than how many friends you have.
Let me put it this way:
"He's cool, he must have lots of friends." not "He has lots of friends, he must be cool."
He could be rich. He could be slutty. Cool almost always points to lots of friends, having lots of friends points to cool (in my opinion) less than half of the time.

Teddy roosevelt in my mind was "cool" because he was persistent in leading his troops to victory. He never gave up faith in his men, and he encouraged them to "get with it" in battle. He was cool, even though he had a rough time growing up. Just think to yourself. What would happen if one day your mother and your wife died the same day? Not being able to breath that well because you have weak lungs? Throughout all the hard times in his life early on, he managed to grow up strong, both physically and mentally, and that is why he managed to outsmart most of his troops in battle.

True as that may be, you can't say that this thread was not just begging to attract him and his type. And since the thread-starter was Tyrant, you probably shouldn't be surprised.

Let's not make it about me anymore, I'm over that stage. For now, let's focus on what the topics are supposed to be, and not change them around and start bashing others.
