The Leader of North Korea is threatning to launch a neclear bomb on the U.S., or japan. The furthest city he will be able to hit though is Denver and we have a bunch of Anti-Nuclear weapons to try and shoot it down.
Do you think he is just trying to scare the world or do you acually think he will do it?

Even though kim-jong-il(sp?), leader of North Korea, is a certifiable nutjob, it's extremely unlikely that he would ever launch a nuclear weapon. It's extremely unlikely that any country would ever launch a nuclear weapon. The only time a Nuke was ever used was against Japan during WW II. And the only real reason it WAS used at that time is because the Allies could do it without any fear of reprisal. Now that numerous countries have nukes, any attack would be met with reprisal. So, If Kimmy were crazy enough and suicidal enough to launch a Nuke, Korea would be decimated. For such a scenario to happen you would also have to have all of Kimmy's Generals and Advisors be just as crazy and suicidal. As for nukes in general, IF one were ever to be launched in an attack it would most likely be India or Pakistan nuking the hell out of the other. But since they're "allies" to the U.S. they are considerd a non-threat. That and they don't have as much oil as.................. IRAN!!!! Iran doesn't have any nukes yet, but 1) They're close to Iraq 2) They're only 1 letter away from Iraq 3) Uh, did I mention Oil? So, gear up for another invasion, then George can circumvent the Rules and stay on for a third term due to the Wars. But really

But really I kinda do if there's a, you know, chance of me being killed by a nuclear bomb.

I was going to make a new thread for this, but I figured, what the hell. www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?t=82755There's a lot of pictures there (May have to refresh a couple times to load them all) taken by a Russian in North Korea. It's kind of cool and kind of creepy in a dystopian future of the '60s kind of way.

To start things off, North Korea never explicitly said they were going to launch a nuclear weapon aimed at Japan or the United States... or any other country for that matter. They may have implied as much, but they have not the technology to do so.
Recently, the long-awaited missile test of their supposed "long-range" missile was conducted, along with various other shorter-range missiles. All of these fell harmlessly into the Sea of Japan, whether on purpose or not. Their long-range missile failed and met an early demise.
So, maybe some time in the future, they might have the capacity to do harm, but definately not now. They're rushing to much with outdated and unproven technology.
One final note. If they did manage to launch a missile with a trajectory aimed at the US, do any of you honestly believe we lack the technology and know-how to shoot it down ages before it reaches anywhere dangerous? I don't. We would shoot down whatever they had coming at us, and that would be that.
