Have you guys read that even Saddam's top generals believed that they still had weapons of mass destruction? Pretty hard to hold it against the CIA for thinking that Saddam did have the weapons when even Saddam's closest men thought he did.
In regards to leaving.. Not sure, but I don't have much confidence that they'd be able to do it on their own.

And apparantly, he was trying to get uranium through somewhere in Africa. I don't know, just something my geology professor said.
I think we should stay and finish what we started over there. No sense in leaving when the job's only half done.
Also, a good percentage of the country is relatively safe, it's just that there's a few trouble spots, mostly in the most dense areas.

another interesting fact I heard a while ago is that a large majority of people believe that Saddam had something to do with 9/11, while there is no concrete evidence linking the two, at least nothing that we've found so far

I certainly wouldn't be surprised if he had something to do with it, at least financially. Saddam was a supporter of terrorism. Chalupa

I don't believe there were WMDs and I don't think the intelligence agencies did either. My reasoning may be a tad speculative but here goes.
IF there were WMDs AND George et al knew it, they would likely not have invaded for the sole fact that such actions would force Saddam to have launched them all in a last ditch effort for survival.
Notice that countries that actually do have WMDs and are "enemies" of the US are not under threat of invasion. Case in point, North Korea. They have nukes, their leader is crazy and the US just talks to them.
Iran does not have WMDs, at least not yet. They're building them. So now the rumours of invading them are coming up more often in conversations and newscasts.
As for what to do now. 1) Don't invade any more countries. 2) Essentially troops have to stay for a while until a peace treaty between the Sunnis and Shiites can be arranged and be shown to work. It can actually happen, look at North Ireland now. It's far more peaceful than it was a decade ago.
3) Support the troops, with more than just idle praise. Money, better training, armor etc.
4) Make it mandatory that people can think for themselves before they are allowed to vote so that a war loving man does not get in again.
The best suggestion i can think of is this:
5) Make it MANDATORY that all elected officials who were in favor of the war send THEIR children to go fight on the front lines. I'm sure a speedy resolution would magically appear then.
Side note so that you can totally disregard anything you don't like, I'm Canadian. Therefore anything that challenges your beliefs can be shruged off by muttering "Stupid Canuck"
=)
Peace!
