"Celebrations" are a part of the game. Take away that and you take a part of the game away. Pretty much restricting harmless freedom if it does end up going through.

If they're going to put restrictions on football, put it on the player's salaries.
Seriously, ticket prices would go way down if teams like the Eagles weren't throwing $9 million a year at players like Owens. Ok, so the guys are talented. That's nice. Doesn't mean they need to be making more in a year than I'll make in a lifetime. It's not like they'll be suffering all that much. I mean, most of the big stars get deals with companies for advertising and such, on top of what they already make.
I think this should be applied to more than football, also. Baseball, basketball, and any other sport where people are making outrageous sums of money should be included as well.
I mean, how many professional teams nowadays have constantly full stadiums for games? Not a whole lot. By reducing salaries and reducing ticket prices, it would allow more people to be able to enjoy games. Also, you don't get money from empty seats, so teams, even though with less individual ticket income, would be benefitting from the overall sale of more tickets.
Ok, my ranting is done.
Oh, and I don't mind the celebrations in the endzones. As long is doesn't involve "stunts" like the sharpie incident and other crap, celebrating is fine with me.

I think the celebrations are okay. Some players like Owens sometimes take it a bit too far but I think the stupid dances they do are all pretty funny.

I guess someone is arguing that there is a downside to them? I haven't seen a whole lot of them, but as has been said, they're usually quite funny. It feels good to score, so why not spend 10 seconds showing off.

and yes chad johnson is the best celebrater
as long as they dont have any celebrations with bad intentions they should be allowed chad johnson's celebrations are fine like the putting the ball, the cpr, and when he gave out presents

Nobody has protested against the endzone celebrations in general. Mostly, it's just been comments on how they get out of hand some times.

I don't think they get out of hand, I think that if Chad Johnson had done the deer thing that probably would have, but they are just good fun.

Pretty much restricting harmless freedom if it does end up going through. agreed. it's been said before, but the nfl pretty much really stands for "no fun league". as long as guys aren't actually getting in opposing players faces or throwing the ball at them or what have you, let 'em do whatever the hell they want.
