What I'm talking about is original jokes, while the simpsons does have original topics for the jokes, there's no originaility in the delivery. This isn't saying, however, that Simpsons isn't funny.

Come on, wheres the Robot Chicken action? Oh well, but still I hate it when American Dad and Futurama and Family Guy does that same joke. When something really weird happens like in American Dad when they made that salsa contest thingy and that alien dude made the salsa from that crap that comes out from him and everyone faints but errrr.... I dunno his name but the american dad dude goes, "I don't get it, what's the secret ingredient?"
O and family guy rocks dude. Like when Peter knocked down the Cable system and he was in the Drunken Clam and he said, "Hmmmm I wonder what Scooby and the Gang is doing" And then at the end Fred says, "Your right scoob, we are dealing with one son of a Bicth."

funniest episode of family guy is when they have too move to sum hick town in arkansaw or sumthin and peter paints there wagon like the ''general lee''(dukes of hazzard)..so he hops in the window like bo and luke duke, so he tells brian too try so brian runs up jumps and smashes his head on the window and knocks himself out lol so peters like ''o sorry i forgot to roll down the window'' then he does his funny laugh hahaha(by this time ive peed my pants laughing)

This is a topic to which I've devoted much thought. I honestly have to give it up to the Simpsons if we're talking Simpsons prime. Seasons 3 through 7'ish are gold...absolute pure and unvarnished comedic genius. Homer in space (the inanimate carbon rod), the Stonecutters, the Treehouses of Horror (Homer in 3D...Time and punishment, etc). Every one of them is absolutely brilliant. Writing and material...perfect. Family guy is great, don't get me wrong, and some of its material is equally brilliant. But most of its gags are non seqs of the "This is more (insert adjective here) than that time I..." which are hilarious, but the same after a while. Lately, I give it to Family Guy hands down...Simpsons has consistently blown since season 9...Family guy has never blown to my knowledge. But Simpsons in its prime wins.

I'd say The Simpsons was in its prime in season 8 too.

Personally I like Simpsons better than Family Guy, although I'm not a huge fan of either. First, I actually get Simpsons, 'cause I don't have cable or anything. Second, Family Guy can be funny, but other times it's just hugely retarted really not funny. Plus with Simpsons I know a whole bunch of awesome quotes.
So... in conclusion, FUTURAMA IS BETTER THAN BOTH SIMPSONS AND FAMILY GUY AND THERE IS NO POINT TO THIS DEBATE!!!

A lot older simpsons episodes are amazingly well written, making it a much better show. Now the Simpsons is less about the characters and plotlines and more about shinanigans and some family-guy-esque comedy. However, some of the classic simpsons elements still make the newer simpsons episode better than the post-cancellation family guy from the past couple years.
Heres my order:
1. Simpsons 2. Family Guy(pre cancellation) 3. American Dad 4. Futurama 5. Family Guy(post cancellation)
oh ya, and King of the Hill is underrated

Hey, Lost... www.nypost.com/entertainment/back_to_the_futurama_entertainment_don_kaplan.htmJune 22, 2006 -- 'FUTURAMA" is officially back from the dead. The quirky animated show from "Simpsons" creator Matt Groening was canceled by Fox about two years ago, but will return with at least 13 new episodes on Comedy Central by 2008. This is only the second time in television history that a show sent to TV's trash heap has been resurrected. Curiously, the first was "Family Guy," also an animated Fox show. The tale of "Futurama's" dramatic revival roughly follows that same path that "Family Guy" did. In both cases, the shows have been successfully airing on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim late-night programming block. They both also turned into hot-selling DVD box sets. "Family Guy" returned to Fox earlier this year, while last fall, Comedy Central outbid Adult Swim for the license to air all 52 episodes of "Futurama" and whatever new episodes might one day be produced. This week, deals were inked to secure all of the original voice talent and the production staff of "Futurama," paving the way for the series' return to TV. The show stars voice-over megastar Billy West (whose elastic vocal chords have provided the voices for nearly 120 different cartoons) as Philip J. Fry, a bumbling slacker from the 20th century who is accidentally cryogenically frozen in 1999 and wakes up 1,000 years later. It is believed that the new episodes will also be released on DVD. "Futurama" star Katey Sagal confirmed the return of the show on Comedy Central Tuesday night during an appearance on Craig Ferguson's "Late Late Show." On Fox, "Futurama" never developed the same buzz or following of its sister show, "The Simpsons," but has since become one of the biggest shows on Adult Swim. Fox may also have the option to air the new episodes, although it is highly unlikely to do so, according to industry sources.

I would have to say that they are all similar. I like family guy the best. Like the part where Peter was touching his chin and it came off and he looked at it and said "hey whats this doing here" and put it in his pants. LOL

I'd say family guy seasons 1-3 were the funniest and since it's been back it's been hit or miss at the extremes. One episode could have me laughing the entire time and another has me bored(ex: peter joining the new england patriots was a boring episode)
Simpsons for the most part is entertaining, in that you can watch it and enjoy the episode, even if you don't really laugh much during it.
Now some episodes aren't even entertaining.
Futurama was consistantly entertaining and mildly funny and I'm glad it's coming back.
Overall for laughs and looking at the present episodes instead of thinking back to 17 years ago, I'd say Family Guy is at the top.

well, this debate is funny........simpsons, futurama and family guy are all good shows..there really shouldn't be a debate at all...just be thankful that they were created and have the priviledge of actually viewing them.......
but in my opinion.....simpsons has to be congradulated, it's been one of the longest successful television cartoon series and even now it's been keeping up with other competitors....Family Guy is no doubt hilarious and has the most funny random things, however....it's prolly more loved because it is new and relates to issues of this century....Futurama is a great show also...it has so many recognizable elements from the simpsons, so to me ironically speaking..it really is a future version of the simpsons.
but really all 3 shows are great and sometimes they even incorporate each other into their episodes which just shows the kind of respect they have for each other (as creators)
