Three piddling seconds I spent making sure I wasn't overthinking questions like "Which freaking fruit isn't one of the top three most eaten" and you call that a "win." I call that "Shenanigans!" That's right, I said it. I also say Gnome is either extremely lucky, or he's quite the haxx0r. I've yet to get through one whole round without having to make 2 guesses, if not more. He's averaged 9 a day...so either he's guessing right ridiculously often, or he's smarter than I give him credit for...which just ain't possible!

How do you spend time not overthinking things? That fruit question should take three seconds. Think sesame street: "One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just ain't the same" (I'm pretty sure it goes something like that).
And I'm not going to tell you anything about how I play this game. I'm totally hoaring these worthless points as much as possible.

First of all, I won yesterday. So whenever Chal gets back, he can see my rightful victory and remove that "Doom has yet to take first place" message and replace it with a "Doom wins" message. Second, and perhaps more important...seriously, how are people guessing right the percentage of the time they seem to be. Tonight's (without going into specifics), I had to make 2 guesses. I guessed wrong both times...statistically speaking, I had a 1 in 4 chance on both questions so I had a 25% shot on each, which aren't bad odds. Both Gnome and Comp either knew those 2 (I sincerely doubt it...there's no godly reason for anyone to know them), or they guessed, like I did, and got both right. Comp I can forgive because he doesn't do it often...but Gnome seems to guess right almost every time (if we judge by the number of 10s he's notched). Smartness is one thing, but I've yet to see one quiz where I didn't have to guess at least once...most nights twice. I call upon you, Gnome, to admit your haxz0rz, and step into the light of my forgiveness!

I believe I've only gotten a few tens, but apparently I've gotten 8 first places after playing 13 days (It's totally ten, but that's neither here nor there.) Funtrivia isn't loading for me right now. Since I forget the questions 2 seconds after I answer them, you're free to post them here and I'll tell you what I was thinking and how I got them right, if you want. Remember, when it's multiple choice, two answers are always throw away answers. =)

To put this thread back on topic...I say we try and call the shots on this month (and perhaps subsequent months). This thing is a much more evenly run affair than Triviahost's bnet channel, score-wise. Nobody can post an absurd and insurmountable lead here. To that end, I submit that I'll take this month by 3 points or more over Gnome at the end (by points I mean the daily point totals...not the scores in the hundreds that get you those daily point totals). Doom>Gnome by at least 3 come the end of the month...anyone think differently? We'll see how close we can come to the actual turnout!

I've decided that half the difficulty in this is that you have to at least semi-follow some of these fields to get the random sports or music question right. I don't know every defensemen who ever played, nor do I know the random country music song lyric...and yet, if they both appear in the same quiz, I'm screwed. To which I say, can we not just do away with country music, and while we're at it, hockey? Then my problems would be solved!
