You cannot exile me Lost! I am t3h awesomez0rz!!!
That said, I keep playing trivia because I harbor deep-seated fears about things like Alzheimer's and other degenerative neurological conditions. Some research indicates that daily, repeated mental stimulation keeps the brain young and manages to prevent or at least delay the onset of those conditions in later life. I value the old brain quite a bit, and I'll do anything to keep it in working order long after Lost has gone the way of the dodo...
Also, I've been coming here for two years, and I just enjoy knowing that even 2 years later, I can still beat all comers!
PS-This is my 300th post! Hooray me!!! I'm catching Chal and Greeny...slowly but surely!

I just like having something to do, especially something that I'm moderately good at. I guess I also like making new friends.

I have a trivia channel and never play trivia. Does that make any sense? And I'm going to start posting everytime Doom does just so he can't ever catch me! muahahaha

That's cheating Chal! Besides, this is your first post in how long? At any rate, I figured that if I post 2 a day from now on, and you post none, then I can whittle away at your 2,400+ post lead and potentially catch you by January of 2012! So watch out...in 4 years or so.
I have to echo Phoenix's statement about making new friends...met a few people on here who I like to consider friends, Chiles, Whot, Comp...never Lost, ever. I met Zoqfotpiksting out here in DC a while back for real...proof that you guys do exist in places other than inside my computer. Now get back inside that thing!

Someone said something about cake? Oh yea, ... I do like the trivia, and the folks I've met. Being led by the promise of cake=> carrot cake?

Nowadays there's also the daily to keep me interested. It's competitive and the comments people leave are hilarious. Plus, today I hit 5,000 on West for the first time in probably a year and a half! Hooray for t3h D00M!!!
Question for you guys: perhaps this is a bit self-serving, but let it not be said that I don't love serving myself. I thought about (since I'm possessed of some free time, besides editing the question file some more), compiling an "All-time" high score list for East and West. I have no illusions about who's got it on west, but I'm still interested to see what the cumulative scores are for a variety of people like Phoenix, Bmode, Goose, etc.
My plan was to use any and every month listed in the 2 archived score sections, and use every known alias of every player to compute the scores. So Rorschach, Punchdrunk, Nigelbenn, etc, all go under "Rorschach" since that's the name by which everyone knows him. Goose's scores as Libri, Goose, booklady, and her current incarnation of dreamerslady would all go under "Mama_goose," and so forth. Any interest in seeing these scores for east and west? I honestly have no idea who has the highest score on East over the last 2 or 3 years but I'd be happy to find out! Simple yay or nay in this thread, or if someone wants to make a poll post, that's fine.

Doom's idea sounds alright, I just wonder how much my score will pale in comparison to everyone else's.

i watch a movie, play a game, listen to music.
Its nice to have something going on in the background. Although trivia is fast moving up the list of things to do. Damn its addictive.
As i wright this im watching 'withnail and I', could be a question for trivia there?. Ill get back to you with a quote.

For me, I really think that it's the fact that I love random information. I know that I'll probably never use most of it at all in life, it's just the knowledge of things that I enjoy.

Meeting the new players is always nice...had 2 or 3 new ones in today who I'm hoping might come back and play some more!

I only go on now when I'm really bored and there's nothing to do. Plus its fun to watch people swear and get mad for not getting the question right or to see people accuse others of hacking and googling.
OT: my new sig is sexy
