I do all types of riding, but I do go over an awful lot of roots, bumps, etc etc. Something with full suspension would be all around good wouldnt it? But then again full suspension is going to be like 4000$ isnt it? So basically for price, anything thats not like 3000$+. I don't mind any brand, except GT. GT bikes never work for me. suggest me a good mountain ridin bike.

First off, full suspension isn't going to cost you $4000. You can get an ok full suspension bike for less than 2 grand, but the components won't be all that great. I'll start off by suggesting some that I've been looking at and researching for the past few months (they are all full suspension, by the way): Cannondale Prophet 4The first thing everybody will notice about a Cannondale is the lefty front suspension. Yes, instead of having two sides to the front suspension, there's just the left side. Don't worry, though, it works just as good as any other, and better than quite a few. As far as components, you're looking at a mostly Shimano setup with LX and a few XT, like the rear derailleur. With about 4" front and rear travel, this is a great XC mountain bike for about 2 grand. Santa Cruz Superlight RSanta Cruz has been one of the top frame manufacturers for the past few years. Like the name says, it's a superlight frame, excellent for XC mountain biking. Also on this one, the components are going to be mainly Shimano LX, but you can get Avid or other Shimano parts with other setups, which run about the same price, about $1700. Specialized Stumpjumper FSRxcFinally, we have the Stumpjumper. From what I can gather, there's not all too much difference between this and the two other bikes. SRAM X-9/Shimano LX components, 3-4" of travel front and rear suspension, and a sweet looking frame. $1900 for the pro model, $1600 for a slightly downgraded comp model. Both excellent selections. So, basically it comes down to which you think looks the coolest. What you're going to want to look for is full suspension, about 3-4" travel will do nicely; disc brakes are definitely something you're going to want; and I would suggest at minimum Shimano LX components, or the equivalent. But, what's really important is your local bike shop. They can offer you personal advice, more custom features, and a custom fit when you decide on the right bike (which can make a TON of difference when you're riding). So, check out what's by you locally and see what you like. Then, ask questions, don't be afraid. Also, see if anything's on sale or if you can get any special discounts. Well, that about sums it up for me. Pics of my new road bike to come. For now, you can see stock photos here: www.giant-bicycles.com/us/030.000.000/030.000.006.asp?year=2006&model=11263If it redirects you, just search 'til you find the Performance - OCR Composite 3, Year 2006.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN BIKES OWN founded in vancouver, for the west coast mountains, arguably some of the best mountain bikes out there, both my sister and i have one and meph since you are in seattle, you could easily drive up to vancouver to pick up a bike from their shop, i do know they ship worldwide though to other i dunno specialty bike shops or w.e www.bikes.comif had to get another one, i'd get either an ETSX-50 or higher, or a ELEMENT-50 or higher. i already have a vertex, so i dont really need another hardtail

Actually, that's the 2007 model. I have the 2006 model. The same, essentially, except for the different color. I like silver better, anyway.
