As a whole, it isn't that bad, but a few bad apples spoil the bunch. If some kind of minimum vote could be implemented, that would be even better, so one person couldn't ban someone when they weren't there and whatnot. All in all though, people are pretty considerate of the kick/ban functions.

Trash_bag .voteban the policy of 'votekick and voteban options for all'.
As the no.1 ranked player for the month of September, I'd just like to say that I am a relative newb to optrivia, who like others, was banned under another aka for no apparent reason about a month or so ago.
Luckily for me, I added some friends I had made in the channel to my f list and they informed me some time later that I could play. I have seen other people banned for being a 'newb'. I guess I was one such player.
The obvious solution is to limit voteban access to moderators or just players like myself who would be deemed trustworthy. Chupaluga has the highest access rate and has authority to remove access priviledges from any moderator or loyal patron to the channel that abuses such access.
Frankly speaking, the 'votekick and voteban options for all' policy has led to chaotic episodes where players would just start the vote scenario for their own amusement. On several occassions, there were so many consecutive votes and consequential squabbling, that it was near impossible to play trivia.
The end result of this unsuccessful democratic voting policy is to discourage and disenfranchise new members and disrupt, the otherwise enjoyable banter of the players in the trivia game.

I totally agree, just the other day someone just popped in ran a vote ban on me which failed but i think limiting it to people that you can trust is a great idea make the channel more enjoyable and fun

Well, it looks like you guys want only select people to able to start a Voteban. That is fine, but who wants to provide me with the list of people that should be on this list? Also, should we allow the .votekick for all or both for select users?

perhaps only the people who sign up on this website should be permitted the voteban ability, but everyone hsdould be given votekick as you can return from that. But only give voteban priviledges out if oyu are sure the people wont abuse their responsibility.

I think that is a good idea. Lets start with that then. Only members of the board will have the ability to start a .voteban.

Yea ;D, now I can stay in the channel when I'm not on the computer. 'Cause I hated it when people would kick me out cause they knew that I wasnt in there to vote for myself to stay.

guys by the look of the banning situation here the chances are very slim this is happening. im mostly in the channel myself and people are using commands properly with no problems.

I know i am just a new member! And i dont have alot of Trivia points (cause i cant type all that fast<Carpoltunnel>) but i do feel that there should be atleast 2 or 3 ppl who can unban! I my-self was banned once for spamming but that was some time ago and im back. But i do have a question, today there was only 2 ppl in the room(my-self included) but he was AFK and a person came in it was "Thug-life" he was using Diablo Expansion. And about a min. went by and i got one of the questions right and he cursed at me and i asked that he watch his language, i told him several times but he cursed at me more. Till i said i would have to report him cause i didnt wana .voteban him cause i was the only one in the room but i wana know if i should have? I had no real desier to ban him because i didnt realy care he was cursing at me. Because i was the only one in the room so...

Besides me, there are three other mods who all have access to Ban people from the room (without a vote). Now that you are a member, you have access to the .voteban command. If he didn't offend you, then no need to start a vote. It's there for people that continually want to disrupt the channel. The vote option seems highly democratic! Chalupa
