I don't think its a contradiction when I said that some people actually vote for the person and not the party and thus negate a label.
Arnold was my only example because I do not have the secret voting records for every candidate in the US over the past 230 years.
And to some higher taxes and increased social programs(universal medicare that actually works) is a good thing. But I can also see why poor people would be opposed to high taxes so to me this isnt a big debate topic.

We have 4 major parties(only 3 of which are national however) the Conservative party(moderate compared to US) the Liberal Party(left) and the NDP(far left) There's the separatist Bloc Quebcois that only runs in Quebec but has more seats than the NDP. So many choices. Hey now don't forget the Green Party And as I haven't the intricated knowledge of politics, at least not nearly as much as everyone else, I think I'll withdraw from this here debate... Oh and I know contradicted wasn't the right word Chalupa, I just couldn't think of a better one...

Actually it is when you state that *democrats* voted for Arnold. That means they *label* themselves as a *democrat*. Just because they voted differently in a particular election doesn't take away the fact that they "labeled" themselves as a *Democrat*. That was why it didn't support what you were trying to say which was that they didn't label themselves since they voted for the other party. A better point would have been if they were independents but then that is a label too.

this is getting into the annoying nitpicking segment of the thread.
Ignore the statement of arnold voters and you will get my point which i clearly stated last time without arnold's help.
There are people who do vote for the person and not the party. Many do it every time there's an election. Thus they are labeless.
Finito, Fin, and whatever other words for Finished in other languages you can think of.
