Well i dunno if any of you guys know this but the Crocodile hunter died on the 4th from a stingray lashing out at him and stabbing him in the chest into his heart with one of the barks still inside him pulling it out before he died. Do you think it wasa stupid idea for him getting that close or do you tink he was just doing it to please his fans?

Actually a stingray death hadn't happened for a long long time, and apparently it was normal to swim near them.

Do you think it wasa stupid idea for him getting that close or do you tink he was just doing it to please his fans? I don't think his stuff was really about pleasing fans at all. Obviously, he was doing what he loved to do. And, as a by product of that, people were entertained and educated. I think he was an awesome guy, and frankly, I'm surprised he hadn't died sooner from something else, ie. crocodile, snake, etc.

Either fearless or stupid, I'd guess stupid. He cornered the damn thing and expected it to just sit there and do nothing. Gee, what's the last thing an animal will do when it knows it's in trouble? Oh yeah, lash out.
RIP Steve Irwin, you were a fool but the fans loved you.

reminds me of Dan Osman en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_OsmanThat guy free climbs with no safety gear; sooner or later you expect him to die; in his case, he does a free fall, miscalculating the lengt of rope, hits a tree and dies on impact. Steve Irwin was doing a special on the deadliness of the tails of the sting rays; it's only poetic irony that he gets stabbed in the heart by the sting ray's tail. Do people really expect others that perform the extreme never die? You're literally tempting the grim reaper.

It would be considered a "Snuff" film. Would anyone really want to watch someone actually die on video?

Yeah, you'd have to be pretty messed up to enjoy watching something like that. I saw a video online that was described as "Death by grenade" and I mistook it for a low end comedy by a bunch of stupid college kids. It was literally a bunch of guys pulling the pin on a grenade and putting it in a handcuffed man's pocket. It showed the man exploding, it was ridiculous.......

i wouldnt watch it, thats for sure, but we all know that there are people who create a market for that sorta thing. but yea, i dont think irwin's family is the type that would sell his death out for a few bucks.

I read in the paper that in his will he said that if they had his death on tape that he wanted it released so that the whole world could see it. The news said that the only people that will see it will be the police and his family but you never know.

Steve Irwin actually said in a TV interview he hoped his death would be caught on camera. Nevertheless for his family's sake it should never be shown. Imagine having footage of your closest loved one dying being shown over and over again on every news channel.
And if it did get out the news stations would likely show it, they care about little else than ratings these days.
