Okay here we go- Whats the best super power and why?
The standards.. 1. No one can have multiple powers. 2. If you chose anything like flying please be relatively realistic. Obviously if a regular person can fly they can't fly too high without oxygen or too fast cause it would hurt your skin. 3 Try and list pros and cons to your superpower. 4. Starting to understand the guidelines?
Some decent powers i have thought up. 1. Controlling birds. -Imagine you pick a fight with the school bully and tell him to meet you in the park after school. He arrives. Slowly the park begins to fill will birds. (Sorta like the movie birds) The bully is obviously beginning to be frightened. Suddenly a harsh laugh. The bully looks up to see you being slowly lifted by gigantic eagles and howling with laughter. This is the last image our Friend the bully will ever see.
2. Being Rbob for a few minutes. I say a few minutes because obviously no mortal could withstand being rbob for more then that period of time. His genius combined with chicks chasing him with water guns is too much to handle for very long. The problem is that you could only last a few minutes before you either revert to normality or die under the weight of rbob's genius. Thus the question is... is this power really worth it?
3. Being the juggernaut ultimate xmen super villain. This reason is obvious. I'm the juggernaut bitch!
4. Reading peoples' minds. The power behind this is incredible. Rising to power, seducing women, learning secrets or answers, would be simple. The only problem is that you yourself would still be very susceptible to harm. Not to mention the multitude of enemies you could make with this power.
These are just a few of my many thoughts on the subject. Please try and follow the guidelines to the best of your ability.

The ability to make people tell the truth. It sound's lame, and its kind of like reading minds, except theres the fact people will eventually figure it out and your ability will be out the open.
No matter what question you ask, the person will never tell a lie and only the absoloute truth. Theres many advantages to it you can think of right off the bat but then when people figure out you're making them do it, you'd be alienated by all your friends, etc.
taken from a show i saw.

I have always been fascinated with shapefshifting so I'll pick that as my superpower.
The ability to change into whatever form I will myself into.
In essence it can cover multiple abilities because you could turn into a bird to fly high and fast, a cheeta to run fast on ground, marine animals to swim etc..
You could go undetected by everyone and could make a great spy.
You could beat most opponents by picking the right thing to transform into to defeat them.
You would get to experience the world from every other object/animal's perspective.
If you wanted to go the way of evil you could impersonate anyone and live their life instead of your own.
I could impersonate rbob and kill him and take over his life, but I doubt I could stand being a total shi* 24hrs a day. I also know i couldn't go on typing in caps for the rest of my life.
Also, since a shapeshifter can change any part of the body, they should be able to change their DNA and alter it so that the DNA always appears to be that of a young person and thus.... never die (going on the assumption that the ends of the DNA that get cut off after each replication are what essentially causes old age.)
Disavantages: If you couldn't concentrate very well you could end up changing shapes all the time even when you really don't conciously want to.
You could turn yourself into a sandwich and get eaten.
You could go insane since you would have no clear "you" identity after a long time of shapeshifting.
Still, it would be cool.

Mind Control. I would own everyone. Or at least they would think I could.

Whoa whoa ... Ms. Lippy.
Okay first off i would like to thank technohawk for his detailed entry... kinda what i was lookin for. But how fast could u change shape and can u turn into inorganic lifeforms?
-Here are some more guidlesines that may prove helpful. We're looking for powers that could a) help one gain power (as in rbobs view of controlling people, gaining prestige and power in politics, amassing wealth and so on..) b)help while fighting
Chalupa- okay i can easily see the advantages to mind control in one on one combat. but does the mind control have a range? Can you just control people from half way across the world? Also, while controlling someone's mind what happens to your own body? Can you control your own body too? How many people can you control at once? Until these are defined you're a stunted charles xavier. Gaining power would be ez pz though. I award props for your power! Grade: B for fighting (super power vs superpower this one owns. Yet agaisnt multiple conventional targets seems possibly inadequate.) A for gaining power
Technohawk- Grade: B+ for fighting (Assuming you could change into something extremely small and then into something extremely dangerous quickly then i believe you could beat mind control... however if mindcontrol boy noticed you first ur dead meat.)(Also pretty good agaisnt non superhuman opponents) Espionage would be fairly easy and so would be removing those who stand in your way. So B+ for gaining power. Props are awarded to technohawk!
mephistool- Grade: F for fighting.... sorry buddy. B minus for gaining power. Bless your heart you tried! is awarded to mephistool... jk. its an interesting power but seems dwarfed by say mindcontrol.
-also this is a debate. Plz say why your power is better then others or if you agree with what someone else said. Defend your position damnit!
... once the best few powers are chosen i guess we can have a vote for the best all around superpower.
Bonus points to those who come up with nifty superhero names. (example: Studinator- no one can resist his charm or Macinator- almost no one can resist his charm or Echris- everyone can resist his charm (Bam! gotcha echris... current score: Holysumo 1 Echris 0.))

I just thought it'd be INTERESTING. i'm hurt that you gave me an F. Personally the superpower i'd like to have would be invisibility. sneak up on someone and slice their throat open. very very sneaky. obviously there would have to be some limitations to it. I can't think of any, but i'm sure there can be. this superpower is so much better then everything else, except mind control. shapeshifting really can't help you when someone could be anywhere in the room. I guess birds could swarm the area until they hit something, but otherwise it's DOMINATED by invisibility.

I like technohawk's powers the best, mostly 'cause I used to read Animorphs books and was really interested in shape-shifting too. You could turn into dragons or birds, and then you could fly. You could also be like the guy in Terminator and turn your arm into a sword or whatever. Then you could turn into a dragon again, and turn the ends of your wings into swords. Then you could start shooting them at people and shapeshift yourself some new ones!

I'd definitely agree with Techno, he pretty much covered all the bases that I was gonna point out...I wanted to say to meph though, if you're invisible, how will you go about covering up the sound, smell, or even the accidental touch? That's the best thing about shapeshifting. It can give you stealth, power, speed...anything you want. You can change your size, shape, and even how well groomed you are. Invisibility, unfortunately, can be overcome. It only covers one of the senses. However, as Juggernaut was saying, if you can't shapeshift quickly, you shouldn't shapeshift at all

Try this one out. I got it from this fantasy short story I read.
What if you could say a magic word (I'll call it craetedo) that would always be the best, most perfect thing you could say in that situation?
example: 1) you're at a race track and want to know what horse to bet on. Say the word (we'll call it craetedo) and presto! The man placing the bets hears the best possible answer and puts your money on the winning horse. 2) Play the stock market? Just place all my money into craetedo. Next morning you find out you placed all your savings into ihop which just gained a stunning ten points! 3) Need an inspirational speech to inspire the masses? Use the word a few times and its money.
4) Need protection? Just hire people to ask you the right questions and you can always get the right answers so long as they repeat what you've said. Say for instance you want to know if anyone means you harm. Someone asks you "Who means you harm?" you reply... "craetedo". Suddenly you find out that shape shifting techno boy is after you. "Well then take me to craetedo!" And your people would bring you the safest possible place you could be in. "How do i defeat this shape shifter?" Craetedo thats how!
Providing you use the word enough you could be a very powerful force.
This power does have some flaws though-
!!!!Remember, you only hear yourself saying the magic word so you yourself will not know what you've said. However, those around you will have heard the best possible thing that you could say in the given situation!!!!!! -Despite this power, the man in the story who knows the word gets undone by his own cockiness. He knows people are chasing him and that they know about the word. So he takes a flight to craetedo. This leads him to the place where his enemies have the least influence. He gets in a cab and says take me to craetedo! Which would naturally be the safest possible place for him to hide. The driver says okay and brings him to a shack where his enemies are waiting and promptly have him killed. Since the taxi driver was in the enemies' pay he ignored what the main guy said and would have taken him to the same place regardless of what the guy had said. The word may have told the taxi driver to take him back to the airport...who knows? But the driver just ignored it and the main character was none the wiser until it was too late. -Thus the main guy should have first used the word to figure out which was the best cab to take. Or he could have not used the word and stated some random place, thus once he realized that the driver was taking him to a different place then he said, he could have done something about it.
What do y'all think of this power? And come up with some other different ones damn it!

Id have to chose dominion over electro-strong forces. Not the weak electromagnetic forces that magneto uses (even though they are pretty impressive) The electro-strong forces (often called just strong force) is the force many times more powerful, that govern the atom.
It took me a while, and even a little research to finally decide what i was going to choose. I sat and thought about the most basic, and most powerful, forces that exist.
With controll over the atom, the very forces that govern them. You can do pretty much anything. Shapeshifting seems to me, to be only one possibility.
Even mind control could be easily overcome. I would just have to get really frickin creative... like maybe i could alter the construction of my own brain? Remove certain aspects.. maybe add more?
I could leave my human brain, and embody a matrioshka brain. Its kind of like a dyson sphere, except that its based on the matrioshka doll idea. Shells of nanoprocessers running off of the heat energy filtering through, and being given off of other inner spheres. In the center is a sun.

That's a pretty neat power I must say. I don't fully understand.. so i'll look up what you've mentioned. The only problem i can take a stab at would be on the issue of whether or not you really know what your doing. What if you destroy some atoms by mistake.. especially if ur working with ur brain... Experimentation with that power could prove lethal. Maybe if it came with a users manual...... Props are awarded for germloucks power!
keep them powers coming guys

I would chose the power of a perfect photographic memory.
I would be able to remember everything I saw and recall it at an instant.
Ok, so not so good at fighting "bad guys," maybe, but I would be able to remember exactly what they looked like after they kicked my ass!
Also, very useful for taking tests, and whatnot. I could just skim through all my text books once and fly through all my classes. How awesome would that be? Very.
